Life In God

We have the life of God within us, and it is available to us. If you don’t know Jesus, today is the perfect day to receive His life and begin following Him.

The life of God is what Jesus died for us to have and enjoy. This is eternal life. For a long time, many of us thought this life referred only to the life we would have in heaven. While this is partially true—because eternal life includes life in heaven—we don’t have to wait until then to experience it. Jesus made it clear that this life is available to us here and now, the moment we receive Him as Lord and Savior.

This life isn’t defeated by circumstances, situations, or the devil. It’s a victorious life that empowers us to live well and enjoy God even in the mundane. Beyond having eternal life, we are invited to enjoy God every day. His presence can permeate every fiber of our being and every aspect of our lives. Life in God means recognizing Him as our source and inviting Him into everything we do. It allows us to live with confidence, placing our lives fully in His hands.

There’s much more to explore about this topic and countless scriptures to share, but my main point is this: the life of God isn’t just in you—it’s available to you every day. You can feel it, experience its power, and walk in it through the Holy Spirit, the person of Jesus, and His Word. Jesus put it beautifully in John 10:10 (NIV):
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

John reinforces this in 1 John 5:13 (NLT):
“I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.”

God’s power and life aren’t limited to moments of spiritual activity or times of trouble. His life is available to us in the everyday moments—when we’re spending time with our kids, in our marriages, during a run, at work, and beyond. Many people feel God’s love during prayer or quiet time but forget that His love and power are accessible all day long. Often, we try to practice God’s presence only in moments of crisis, attempting to build faith when the mountain already feels too big to climb. However, if we cultivate a habit of seeking and renewing our minds to enjoy the Lord in all circumstances, then when crises come, we can approach Him with trust, knowing His faithfulness and goodness will sustain us.

Instead of preaching further, let me share some practical steps for living daily in the presence and life of God:

1. Recognise that we are always in God’s presence

He lives in you - 1 Corinthians 6:19

2. Acknowledge the Lord in all our ways throughout the day

Proverbs 3:5-7 reminds us to trust Him in all things.

3. Keep our mind on Him daily through His Word

Let His Word shape your thoughts and guide your actions.

4. Pray with thanksgiving, worship, and praise

Stay connected to Him in gratitude and love.

5. Give everything to God

Bring Him your worries, joys, successes, and even perceived failures. Philippians 4:6-8 encourages us to present everything to Him with thanksgiving.

6. Do the Word

Speak the Word, practice gratefulness, and trust God for whatever you face each day.

7. Do something that brings you joy and delight

Remember, God delights in seeing you enjoy the life He’s given you.

There are many more ways to live in the life of God, but may the above steps bless and encourage you as you enjoy His presence in you.
